There are many reasons you want to learn how to publish your own book. You may be curious about how the process works and want to learn for the sake of learning. You may want to use your first Little Legacy Book to learn skills you'll need for your next book or the novel you are working on. Or you might have more time than money at this point in your publishing career.

Acting as the designer and publisher of your own book is an investment of a lot of time learning new skills, learning software you may not be familiar with (like Photoshop, Illustrator, The Affinity Suite, InDesign, Vellum or Pixelmator Pro) and learning the publishing process. It takes patience and tenacity. While many so-called experts say you can create a book using Canva, Word or online tools, you won't make a retail shelf-ready product. It will stand our for all the wrong reasons.

You will have software costs and will commit to learning publishing skills like typography, page layout, graphics formatting for print — a lot of skills seasoned designers take for granted and comes second-nature to them — but are a heavy lift for newcomers or casual publishers to learn.

As long as you are comitted to learnings how to put a book together, we'll be there to guide you through every step.

We make all the investment in software and skills and you do all the writing, including producing the front matter (Blurbs, Copyright, Dedication, Epigraph, Foreword, Introduction, Preface, Prologue) and back matter (Epilogue, Afterword, Endnotes, Bibliography, Acknowledgments, About the Author, Also By)

You also proof galley copy for typos and inconsitencies, approve final layout for production and contract (provide or produce) the graphic elements for the cover and copy for the back cover.

We provide you with production-ready files for print and ePub for upload into Ingram (or any POD) and provide light guidance on the POD technical requirements as needed.
